How to Disassemble a Wall Mounted Faucet?

2023-05-09

Wall-mounted faucets, also known as Wall Faucet, can be found in many homes for their sleek design and space-saving properties. They are a popular choice for bathrooms and kitchens, but at some point, you may need to disassemble them for maintenance or repair. In this article, we will discuss the steps to disassemble a Wall Faucet.

Wall Faucet

Step 1: Turn off the Water Supply

Before disassembling any faucet, it is essential to turn off the water supply. Locate the shut-off valves under the sink and turn them clockwise until the water stops flowing.

Step 2: Remove the Handles

Once the water supply is turned off, remove the handles of the faucet. Most wall mounted faucets have a screw under the handle that you can remove as the first step. This screw can be accessed once the decorative cover of the handle is removed. Gently lift off the decorative cover and unscrew the handle to loosen it.

Step 3: Remove the Wall Mounting Bracket

After you remove the handles, you will need to remove the wall mounting brackets. Use a wrench or pliers to loosen the nuts that hold the faucet to the wall. Once the nuts are loose enough, pull off the faucet and the mounting bracket. Make sure to place a towel or small bucket underneath to catch any water that may spill out during dismantling.

Step 4: Remove the Cartridge

After removing the mounting bracket, you can remove the cartridge. Use a cartridge puller to gently remove the cartridge from the socket. If you don't have a puller, try wiggling the cartridge back and forth until it comes out.

Step 5: Inspect and Clean

Once all parts are removed, take a look and observe if there are any damaged components. This is a great opportunity to clean all parts and inspect for signs of wear or damage to the faucet. Replacing O-rings, gaskets, and washers is generally recommended.

In conclusion, disassembling a wall-mounted faucet may seem daunting, but with the right tools and techniques, it is a straightforward process that anyone can do. Remember to turn off the water supply and work carefully to avoid damaging any parts. By performing regular maintenance and cleaning on your faucet, you can ensure it stays in good working condition for years to come.
